Rosalía show

Standing ovation Only two songs passed and the ovation was of total surrender with Rosalía standing in the center of the stage, smiling and joyful: «I am so grateful to be able to come here for all of you. How many of you are there? 15,000. Let’s go Madrid!» And then she brings out her portentous voice so that ‘De madrugá’ can be heard even in the farthest of the seats. He then asks the crowd to raise their phones to create that beautiful atmosphere that already has its hypnotic collaboration with James Blake: ‘Barefoot in the park’. Que no salga la luna’ and ‘Maldición’ are worthy of a futuristic hyperspace tablao and prove, if anything, that the Barcelona-born singer fills the stage with her presence alone.

And that her more folkloric facet is the one that captivates the most, that too, because it allows her to show off more vocally. She then thanks El Guincho for venturing to work with her, before what is surely the best and most authentic of the evening: ‘Catalina’ sung a cappella while from the darkness and silence come cries of «guapa» and howls thrown with fervor towards the stage. With her hand on her chest and her eyes moistened, Rosalía receives them with the most solemn and impressive interpretation of the recital, without paraphernalia, without dance. Alone in front of the silence. Aunque es de noche’, ‘Te estoy amando locamente’ by Las Grecas and ‘Di mi nombre’ and the defiant ‘De aquí no sales’ delve into the Rosalía of ‘El mal querer’, the most local and the most effusively applauded in a generalized way, as it has more impact and depth.

Thousands of fans without ticketsEven though the Wizink Center has the capacity to hold about 14,000 people, it was incredible how many people were left without tickets to see their favorite artist. There were two opportunities: a presale, where the first tickets were sold, and the general sale. An event for which thousands of people queued virtually – anything goes to get a ticket like that! However, in less than two hours all tickets were sold out. It remained to wait for the opening of a second date, but Rosalía was clear: she wanted to finish her tour on December 10. And there was no turning back.

Return to her homelandBefore landing in Madrid, Rosalía gave two concerts in Barcelona, her homeland. A show that she lived with great intensity and in which she even shed some tears during one of her songs.
