In the coronavirus season everything changes, so the bar has a table at one end and in the middle of it another one is incorporated; there are three more, scattered, all perfectly separated so that there is not the slightest contagious proximity, we are hungry and suspicious islets.

The decoration is nice, simple, two large rectangular mirrors to give amplitude, wooden tables and chairs, ecological hunting trophies of Javier Medina, who has his place in our neighborhood, in an old carpentry in Escorial street, original paintings, modern lighting. It is a cozy place, in spite of the unconnected tables that reality has turned into a decorative trend.

For starters, we choose crispy marinated anchovies (9,00 €). Marinated anchovies with lemon and various spices, a marinade very similar to the one used on dogfish in bienmesabe mode, with a predominance of paprika and a touch of cumin. The frying is great, totally crunchy and the inside is soft, crackling sea. great!

The menu is brief, with more choices of starters to share than main courses – there are only four main courses comprising meat, fish and rice with vegetables – although all the recipes are carefully prepared. Dolores y LOLA seeks to create complicity with its clientele by offering warmth and personalized service.

The star dessert of the menu is the bread, chocolate, oil and salt, a mixture that emulates the classic bread with chocolate with a different touch given by the oil and salt, only suitable for transgressive palates.

Former judge Baltasar Garzón and state attorney general Dolores Delgado at the Rapa das Bestas festivities in Saucedo, in A Estrada (Pontevedra), on August 28, 2021. – César Arxina / EUROPA PRESS

At the halfway point of her term at the head of the Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and with the recent endorsement of the Supreme Court to her appointment in February 2020, by dismissing the appeals of Vox and PP who considered that having previously held the portfolio of Justice delegitimized her for the position of attorney general, Dolores Delgado is currently going through one of the biggest crises of her busy mandate.

On the other hand, Dolores Delgado’s own relationship with Villarejo sows doubts in relation to the performance of the Prosecutor’s Office in the case, since, for example, she does not accuse of money laundering and criminal organization except in the main piece and not in the rest of the thirty or so pieces into which the macro-case is divided. Those two are the most serious crimes and the ones that carry more penalties and from whose investigation important evidence could be extracted. These days Villarejo and another twenty people are being judged for three accumulated pieces, ‘Iron’, ‘Land’ and ‘Pintor’. Next Friday the court could rule on the nullity of the recordings seized from the commissioner, as requested by the accusations. These recordings constitute one of the most important pieces of evidence in the case.
